Leitz Tooling ThermoTech Window System seminars continue to sell out
24th September 2014
Hosted by SCM Group (UK) in Nottingham in September, the latest in Leitz Tooling’s national ‘Future-proof timber window production’ seminar tour was once again fully booked, demonstrating that a simple, efficient and effective tooling solution along with up-to-date information on ‘A’ energy rated timber window production is in demand.
A wide range of manufacturers, independent joinery workshops and furniture producers were represented by more than 40 delegates in attendance for the day-long seminar.
New for this event were details from Leitz Tooling on the new British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) window licenses for their ThermoTech Window System. Licences for 18 different variations of energy rated timber window manufacture can now be purchased from the BFRC through Leitz by any company using the ThermoTech Window System stack tooling, and incentives are available on the first year of BFRC window licences for new purchases of the ThermoTech Window System.
Meeting the expectations of attending companies looking to diversify, keep up-to-date with regulations and seek a competitive advantage, the seminars again included presentations and discussions with the British Woodworking Federation (BWF); Accsys Technologies on Accoya Wood; software supplier to the bespoke joinery market, Joinerysoft; and Teknos Coatings. Joining Leitz’s familiar group of experts and suppliers for timber window production were tailor-made financial solutions provider, Close Brothers Asset Finance, Deventer Weather Seals, offering the complete package of sealing profiles for all window and door constructions, and a presentation and practical demonstration by SCM Group (UK).
The Leitz ThermoTech zero set tooling took SCM less than 7 minutes to produce an ‘A’ rated timber window frame, demonstrating how fast, accurate and easily repeatable production can be with the Leitz system.
Leitz ThermoTech Window System is a complete, compliant and scalable system for the manufacture of high quality ‘A’ rated thermal windows, which reduces waste and sanding and increases performance and finish. The features and benefits of the ThermoTech Window System mean that all design U values of the timber windows are 1.4 or better, the designs are expandable for different hinges, and the profiles on the system are easily changed, without needing to purchase extra tools. The system is available in multi-tool or dedicated sets for spindle moulders, tenoners, CNC machine centres and window machines.
“For timber window production, we have removed the burden and cost of design, tooling, set up and window simulation thermal testing for the energy performance rating; the only things we don’t do is actually ‘performance test’ the window, or make it,” said Leitz sales manager Brian Maddox. “Our high quality product is easy to set up and use and is one of the most economical solutions in the industry. These seminars give companies the chance to see it in action for themselves and ask questions. All the companies involved in these seminars are experts in their field and are here to help.”
Leitz Tooling UK is the UK’s largest supplier of tooling to British industry and all Leitz tools are safety tested to BS EN 847 standards. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
